Newsletter 14 - 13th December 2024

Dear Parents and Carers,

Holy Trinity School Vision:

Is for our pupils to flourish in an inclusive, inspirational place of learning where we are happy, respectful, kind and safe.

We have all enjoyed the wonderful ‘First Nativity’ performed by Reception class. They did a brilliant job! A big thank you and well done to all the children and to the Reception Class Team who prepared the children so well.

We look forward to Key Stage 1 Nativity performances in school next week (Monday 16th at 1.30pm and Tuesday 17th at 9.15am). Please do come to the back of the hall door. We will be collecting cash donations for the Holy Trinity Church Food Bank.

You are welcome to join us on Monday for the Key Stage 2 Christmas Service at 6pm in Holy Trinity Church. Children need to be in school uniform and at church by 5.45pm. Please collect children at 6.45pm if you’re not able to stay. Once again, we will be collecting cash donations for the Holy Trinity Church Food Bank.

Please do take a look at the Diary Dates below for all the other events taking place next week.

End of term

We finish at 1.30pm on Friday 20th. Please do collect your children at 1.30pm in the usual way.

The Top Tip guide this week is all about a tech-free Christmas – might be worth a look!

Enjoy the weekend,

Mrs Griffith

Tremendous Tournament

On Friday afternoon, we had two teams of year 5 & 6 boys take part in the Ascot Cup, playing against teams from Cheapside, St. Michael’s, St. Francis and South Ascot Village School. Our B Team played very well, drawing one match and losing the others by very fine margins. Our A Team won three of their matches and drew the other one. This resulted in our A Team winning the cup, which will be kept all year in the reception foyer. Congratulations boys!

All boys represented Holy Trinity brilliantly. Well done to our fantastic goalies, who saved some amazing goals, and to our goal scorers Sam P, Jake, Ollie, Sam G and Luke. Thank you to Mr Holt who managed the B Team. Well done everyone – a great afternoon!

Christmas Lunch

Our Christmas Lunch this year will be on Wednesday 18th December.

Please note there will be no Jacket Potato option.

Lunch can be ordered on the day.  This is free for children in Reception Class and Years 1 and 2.  Please make sure you have put money on ParentPay to cover the cost for children in Years 3 - 6.  The price is £2.60 which is the same as usual.

Clubs - Spring Term

Some clubs are now available to book - see more details here.  More booking links will be published as we receive them.  There is no need to rebook for netball or choir.  There is a £30 a term charge for Netball which will be on your Parent Pay account from next week payable before the first session on 15th January if you'd like your child to continue with the club.  Please speak to Mrs Lawson in the office if you have any questions about clubs.  The first week for all clubs will be w/c 13th January.

Art Club on a Wednesday will be back on after Christmas.  Mrs Dutton is back in the country and asked us to let you know that you may have a refund for sessions missed or a reduction in term fees if rebooking for the Spring term.  Please contact Mrs Dutton directly to rebook.

Special Educational Needs and Disability Register - Message from RBWM

We provide a Special Educational Needs and Disability Register, which is a list of children and young people from RBWM who have special educational needs or a disability. We would like to encourage Parents, carers or guardians to register on behalf of a child or young person.

The SEND Register helps the borough support children and young people with disabilities or complex needs by:

  • Giving you relevant information, advice and support that is targeted directly to your child or young person's needs.
  • Giving you information from other agencies which specialise in working with children and young people with special educational needs or disabilities.

For more information, please see the link. To register, please email the disabilityregisterRBWM@achievingforchildren.org.uk

Parking

Once again parking behaviours are causing problems in the area.  Please do not park in the Village Hall car park, front or back even for short periods, if you are dropping children at school.  This is private property and for users of the Village Hall only.  We have received numerous complaints about this.

Cars are also starting to park on the chevrons outside school at drop off and pick up in very close proximity to the school gates.  This is very dangerous and can attract a substantial fine and penalty points on your license.

It is also an offense to park in the disabled bay without a blue badge at any time, even if you are sitting in your car.  We have families who need to use this bay but mostly can't as none blue badge holders have already occupied the space.

We have contacted the council again for enforcement action around school to make it a safer place for our children.
