Newsletter 9 - 8th November 2024

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome back to the second half of Autumn Term. We hope you all enjoyed a good half term break.

School Council Fundraiser

The School Council Reps should be really proud of themselves for the organisation of today’s fundraiser for Children In Need. Thank you for all your donations and for supporting the School Council in their cause. They have raised £355.90!

Odd Socks Day

Next week is Anti-Bullying Week. As has become the tradition, we are inviting the children to wear odd socks on Monday 11th November. This reminds us that we are all different but all equally valuable. The theme this year is ‘Choose Respect’ – I wonder if you might like to discuss this theme with your children at home as we will be doing in school.

Book Wish List

As part of our plan to revamp the library this year, we have selected a range of diverse books that we would like to have available for the children. If you would like to buy any of these books to donate to the library, please take a look at this wish list on Amazon. Thank you!

Top Tip

This week the content is linked to Anti-Bullying Week and will help facilitate discussion with your children at home.

Have a lovely weekend,

Mrs Griffith

Well done to all of our Stars this week

Year 3 – Jack for super perseverance with his writing and an amazing set of instructions on How to Wash a Woolly Mammoth.

Year 4 – Isabelle for always contributing well and sharing some great vocabulary.

Year 5 – Indira and Ryan for excellent teamwork in gymnastics, listening to each other and taking on board feedback.

Year 6 - Junior for being ready to learn at the start of every lesson and using great listening skills.

House of the Week
The Houses with the most house points this week are Earth and Water! Well done Earth and Water!

Making a Splash!

On Wednesday afternoon a team of children from Years 5 and 6 took part in a swimming competition at St George's School in Ascot.  They took part in individual races and relays, winning the final 'surfboard-relay' race.  They represented Holy Trinity fantastically - well done to them all!  Thank you to Mr Holt for attending with the children and to those parents who were able to stay and watch.

Bags 2 School

We have a Bags 2 School collection next Wednesday 13th November.  Please bring bags in the morning ready for collection at 9am.  This is a great earner for the PTA so if you have a spare minute (hour?!) for a clear out at the weekend we would be very grateful.  Please see here for what can and can't be included.

Please don't include excluded items - we have to PAY for these to be taken away.

Royal Ascot Photography Competition

A Message from Ascot Racecourse

Following the successful launch of our Autumn Photography Competition last year, we are again encouraging students to enter this year’s competition to encompass our Christmas Raceday theme of “The Nutcracker”.
