Year 3 and 4 Girls Football Tournament

Last Friday, Mrs Barnes had the pleasure of taking a group of Year 3/4 girls to a football tournament at the Marist School.  What a team they were! The girls played against Year 4 teams from The Marist, The Dolphin School, South Ascot Village School, Eagle House, Bishopsgate and Reddam House. The girls showed true teamwork with some great goals from Sophie and super saves from Ariana.  We had lots of fun and can’t wait for the next opportunity for girl’s football.  Well done!

Eco Warriors and Gardening Club Win Coveted Prize!

The new school allotment is coming along a treat with the Eco Warriors and Gardening Club being guided and supported by parent volunteer Mrs Patel (Mum to Savan in Y3 and Pasha in Reception Class).

So much so, that this month the children won the Best Veg Garden 2023 award from Charles Dowding who advocates the No-Dig Method of growing!!!  Please see the website and article featuring the children here.

This week in Gardening Club Mrs Patel reported: 'The children have been ferrying wood chips in the wheelbarrow to make a start on our pathways. They’ve also been building the seat of “dead hedges” as fencing, to protect the site, with branches that have been donated by parents. They also made a start on some “bug snugs” to hopefully entice some wildlife in… and we fed the birds (worms, no nuts).. oh and they’re decimating absolutely everything!'

The children have also worked tirelessly in their break times this week, keeping the playground clear of leaves whilst feeding the leaf compost heap on the field.

Uniform Deliveries

The free delivery option to school on uniform deliveries will be suspended over the Christmas break.  The last delivery to school will be on Weds 13th December, resuming on Weds 10th January.  You can still order over Christmas for delivery to home with a postage and packing charge.

Be Safe This Winter When Cycling

With the days getting shorter and the recent weather causing miserable travelling conditions on local roads, the Road Safety Team at RBWM would like you to share with you some guidance for families who cycle to school. This includes how they to keep yourselves safe at this time of year as well as understanding the legal requirements of bicycles.  Please see the item below if you're cycling this winter.
