Spectacular Sporting Success

Over the last couple of weeks, many pupils from KS2 have represented Holy Trinity brilliantly demonstrating skill, perseverance and teamwork.

At the end of January, we took our years 5 & 6 boys and girls football teams to a tournament at Charters. They played teams from St. Michael’s, South Ascot Village School, St. Francis and Cheapside. They had varying results with the boys finishing fourth and the girls finishing joint second. Well done to all! Thank you to Mrs Boaler for attending the tournament.

This week on Monday, over 20 children from years 3 – 6 took part a cross-country event at The Marist School in cold, wet weather. They showed great resilience completing courses as long as 1500m. For some this was their first competitive sporting event. A special mention for Jacob, Zach, Max, Olivia and Jack who won medals for finishing in the top three in their races. Our all-weather track is definitely paying-off! Thank you to all parents who were able to take their children to this event.

On Wednesday, we took twenty children from years 5 & 6 to a basketball tournament at Charters School. All children played fantastically well in their teams, competing against each other and teams from St. Francis and South Ascot Village School. Our A Team won overall, winning us three brand new basketballs, which I am confident will be well used in the playground! Many thanks to Mrs Rhodes for attending the tournament and to those parents who were able to stay to watch.

History Event at St. George’s

On Monday 11th February two pupils from Y6 were invited to St George’s in Ascot to attend a History Debate.

We had to solve the mystery of the disappearance of the Two Princes in the Tower from 1483. We were given a variety of historical sources and we had to decide who we thought the likely suspect for their murder was. We had to present our findings to the other pupils taking part from other local schools, the 6th Form historian students from St. George’s and their History teacher.

We had a fun time and it was a great opportunity to meet new people.
