Newsletter 1 - 3rd September 2021

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome back to our new school year! We hope you all enjoyed family time over the summer. Thank you for your thoughtful and generous gifts at the end of last term – all were much appreciated.

Our term has started well and we’d like to extend a very warm welcome to our new families and staff.

As you’re all aware, restrictions have lifted and we are operating in a different way this term. There is no requirement for bubbles so children are mixing between classes and Key Stages again. Year 1 have enjoyed spending time with their Year 6 Buddies already this week and Reception children will begin to get to know their Year 6 Buddies next week.

Here is a link to the revised risk assessment detailing the measures we are taking to continue to work in a safe way. Please do ask if you have any queries.

Class Letters

You will have received a letter from your child’s class teacher (Y1 to Y6) detailing information about PE days etc. If you have missed this please let the office know. Please also take a look at the class pages on the website for further information.

Meet the Teacher

You are invited to come into the classrooms to meet your child’s teacher on Tuesday 7th September. Teachers will run two identical sessions so that you are able to attend more than one if you have more than one child:

  • 3.15 – 3.45pm
  • 3.45pm – 4.15pm

We are happy to welcome you into the classrooms but ask that you please wear a face covering when inside. Thank you. If you are unable to make the meeting, teachers will be posting the information on their class pages too.

Class emails

We are currently experiencing some technical difficulties with class emails so please bear with us.  Going forward, please keep the following in mind:

  • Use the office email for any admin or data related information/queries. E.g to let us know who is collecting you child or if they have an appointment or medical information. Also to let us know any change of details for yourself. Teachers are unlikely to have the opportunity to look at emails during the teaching day so please contact the office for any urgent messages.
  • As you are now able to communicate with your child’s teacher at the end of the day, please make an appointment via the class email with the class teacher.

Uniform

It’s wonderful to see the children looking so smart! Thank you. Please continue to send your child in with the correct uniform (winter) and make sure that any hair accessories are green or neutral.

Collection at the end of the day

As more parents are coming into the playground to collect now, please look out for your child’s ‘class line’. This will help teachers to spot parents.

Have a great weekend,

Mrs Griffith

School Clubs

Our extra-curricular school clubs start up w/c Monday 13th September.  We have quite a few new ones, some former clubs starting up again and changes to existing clubs so please do look carefully at the information on our web page here.  This includes information about how to book. We have after school clubs and some lunchtime clubs too.  New information has been added this week so do look out for:

Martial Arts - Y5&6

Little Musketeers Fencing - has moved to Thursday mornings

New French Lunchtime Club for Years 3 - 6 on Tuesdays

New Playball Club for Y1&2 on Fridays

Art Club for Y2 - 6 on Thursdays.

We'll have taster sessions in school assemblies for Martial Arts and Little Musketeers Fencing next week.  There'll be more information to come about Netball and School Choir over the next week.
