Sponsored Run and Reception Tea Party for Muscular Dystrophy
Well done to everyone who took part in the sponsored run today - the sun shone for us at last and you all did a fanstastic job . Thank you so much for all your sponsorship monies so far totalling over £750 which is a fantastic amount! Please bring in any further sponsorship monies by the end of next week. In addition, Reception Class followed up their Class Assembly for parents today with a tea party and raised a further £135 for Muscular Dystrophy and Mrs Free's London Marathon in April. Thank you so much to everyone who baked and served and gave. Your generosity is so appreciated.
Year 1 Visit Pizza Express
Class 1 went to Pizza Express in Sunningdale this week for a workshop on how to make the perfect pizza! We learned to follow a set of instructions and wrote them up once back at school. We all made a margharita pizza and were careful to sprinkle the cheese all around the base. The best bit was eating our pizza back in our classroom for lunch! Buon Appetito!!
Year 2 Visit Brooklands Museum
Last week Year 2 went to Brooklands Museum to find out more about the history of transport as part of their topic, Explorers. There was so much to do there and the day was jam-packed. We saw lots of old vehicles, racing cars and bicycles before looking around the Aircraft Factory and the London bus museum. Our highlights were getting to go on double decker buses, making our own aeroplanes using the tin press, making peg racer cars and seeing some real life bombs from the second world war. The best part of the whole day (apart from eating our packed lunches!!) was being able to go on the Concorde – this was a real hit and something we all enjoyed. It was understandable why so many of the class were fast asleep on the way back to school!
Year 2 Learn About Fractions
We have spent the last two weeks learning about fractions and have had some exciting lessons as part of this work. On Shrove Tuesday, we all had a scotch pancake each that we had to try and cut into halves, quarters and thirds. Jacob said that it was “the best lesson ever!” whilst a lot of us couldn’t even believe we were in a maths lesson. Lexie was our Mathemagician of the lesson with her super investigating, she found out that “a half is equal to 2 quarters!”
Following this we painted our own pizzas and had to choose different toppings for each half or quarter. All this work thinking about food made us work up an appetite for lunchtime!
Year 2 at the Camberley Quilter Kid's First Spring Rugby Festival
Last weekend Alex, Findlay and Jude played in the Camberley RFC Spring Rugby festival, representing Chobham RFC U7's. The Festival is one of the largest in the calendar involving 8 clubs from Surrey and Hampshire with over 1000 children between 6-11 taking part and despite the cold weather everyone had a great time.
Between matches the boys met Harlequins fly-half Brett Herron and then they received their medals from a surprise guest, England coach Eddie Jones!
Alex, Findlay and Jude will be back in action this weekend at the Cobham triangular festival before they travel to Leatherhead for the Surrey Rugby Mini's Festival at the end of March. If your children would like to try tag-rugby at Chobham please contact Nikki at u7chobhamrugby@gmail.com.
Ben's Judo Success!

Aidan's Super Swimming
Aidan competed in a swimming gala over the weekend and was 4th overall for his age group, a great achievement for your first gala Aidan, well done!
Class 4H Learn About Jewish Festivals
4H have been learning about Jewish festivals. They found out about some of the things Jews do during Sukkot, a festival that celebrates the time their ancestors spent in the wilderness. The children built models of sukkahs, which are huts made from mainly natural products that Jews eat, celebrate and sometimes sleep in during Sukkot.
