Absence
Please do not book holidays or family days during term time. Missing even one or two days of school can be detrimental to your child's learning as key information is missed. Friendships are also affected. Holiday absences will show up as persistent absence which is checked by Ofsted when they visit and monitored closely each half term by the Education Welfare Officer at RBWM. Please note that changes are afoot which may require the issuing of fixed penalty notices for holiday taken during school term time.
Ascot Racecourse - QIPCO British Champions Series
As part of racing’s community engagement strategy, we are pleased to attach details of a special offer from our partners, QIPCO British Champions Series (QBCS), who are offering children and families at state primary schools within a 3-mile radius of the racecourse an exclusive discount on tickets for QIPCO British Champions Day at Ascot Racecourse on Saturday 15th October 2022.
Under 18-year-olds race for free, but QBCS are offering a 50% discount when two adult tickets are purchased in the Queen Anne Enclosure.
More information on the day and some of the exciting activities taking place in the Fan Zone - a hub of activity directed at a wide reach of young racegoers, particularly those with equine interests, to educate them about all things thoroughbred racing and breeding – are attached below.
This raceday marks the finale of the British Flat racing season where guests get to see the best horses, trainers and jockeys step out onto the hallowed turf for one final, thrilling showdown.
