Newsletter 15 - 16th December 2021

Dear Parents and Carers,

We made it!

The last newsletter of the term and 2021. Phew!

Nativity

We hope you all enjoyed the links we have sent of the children’s Nativities and KS2 songs. Of course it’s not the same as you being able to come in and watch them, but the children enjoyed taking part and we hope they brought a smile (and maybe a tear?) to your face.

Christingle Service

Yesterday, in our bubbles, we enjoyed our Christingle Services at church with Revd. Jon. Not sure how many complete Christingles made their way back to your homes…..! A big thank you to Revd. Jon for taking the time to make us feel peaceful and Christmassy!

January Return

Now, there has been a lot of speculation in the media about the January return to schools. I have no insider information! As far as we’re aware, children will be returning on Wednesday 5th January. If this is not the case, we will let you know what the plan is as soon as possible.

Thank You!

As usual, you have been very generous with your cards and gifts – we do appreciate your kindness and thoughtfulness.

My heartfelt thanks go to all the Holy Trinity Team – for your commitment and absolute dedication to our children. Thank you.

Wishing a wonderful Christmas break to all our families,

Mrs Griffith

New Lunch Menu

There will be a new school lunch menu from January.  Please see below.  Do note that there is a change to the published menu on the first day back, Wednesday 5th January, when the choices will be BBQ Chicken Pizza, Cheese and Tomato Pizza or Jacket Potato.

School Clubs

Most of our clubs are available for booking again and the plan is to go ahead with clubs again if we possibly can.  Do check out the website for more information.

Christmas Lights
Last Friday, Year 6 were invited to switch on the lights on the big tree at Broomhall Park and to sing some carols.  It was very festive and doesn't the tree look amazing!

Making Christingles

Revd Jon conducted no less than three Christingles yesterday for the children.  On Tuesday, children from Year 6 went to Holy Trinity Church to prepare the Christingles which was a lot of work.  There was quite a production line!

The Christingle Services

Please see some photos of these very beautiful services below.

Year 6 Christmas Activities

Year 6 have been creating some intricate Christmas designs and then producing them in cross stitch this week.   The classrooms were very peaceful with all the children stitching away with Christmas music playing gently in the background!

The Quince Players - Panto!

The Quince Players are very excited to be back at the Cordes Hall, Sunninghill in January, with our pantomime, Adventure in Pantoland.  Shows will be held on 13th - 16th and 20th - 22nd of January .  Please check the attached flyer with full details of dates and times.

'Adventure in Pantoland' is a traditional pantomime with a twist. It takes us on an enchanting, light-hearted journey through some of the best-loved pantomime stories as our favourite characters try to outwit the wicked witch and her hapless side-kick , in their search for a happy ending. With all the usual pantomime tomfoolery and plenty of singing and dancing, you can expect to see a dame, a fool, a hero and princess or two, and of course a good fairy to help everyone along the way!

We would be delighted to see lots of friendly faces in the audience, so please book your tickets and you can look forward to a fun, local show to blow away those January blues! You can easily book online via ticketsource.co.uk/quinceplayers or ticket forms can be collected and dropped at Inspirations on Sunninghill High Street.  Better still - would you like to win some tickets?

We have 4 tickets to give away, worth £56!  Our characters venture through some very familiar panto lands to find out where they belong – simply guess which 5 pantomimes they visit,  send your answers in an email to qp.panto@gmail.com and you could be the lucky winner! The competition will close on 23rd December and the winner will be drawn at random from all the correct entries we receive by that date. The winner will be notified by return email on 24th December and details will be posted on the Quince Players website – just in time for Christmas! Could it be Aladdin, Robin Hood, Beauty and the Beast, Dick Whittington, Cinderella? There are lots to choose from, but you decide which 5 you think are in our pantomime.   We look forward to receiving your entries!

Good luck and best wishes from the Quince Players Panto Team
