Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome back! Thank you for your generous Christmas gifts and wishes – we really do appreciate them. We look forward to a productive and positive 2025!
Obviously, our start back has not been exactly as we would have wanted – thank you for your patience and understanding with this. As you were informed yesterday, the work to repair the heating problem has begun. The classroom heaters are in place but there are still some cold areas around school so please do continue to send your children in with layers.
Termly Fund
Most classes now have at least one trip/event in school planned for this term. As you know, these come at a cost and we’d appreciate your termly contributions via ParentPay. Unfortunately, the school is unable to carry the additional cost of these trips so we may have to cancel a trip if we don’t receive the requested termly donations. Thank you for you attention to this matter.
Clubs
Clubs before and after school will re-commence next week.
Enjoy the weekend,
Mrs Griffith
Stars of the Week for w/e 10th January 2025
Well done to all of our Stars this week
Reception – Finley for always coming in to school cheerfully each morning and super attention and listening on the carpet.
Year 1 – Henry for showing true perseverance and not giving up with his drawing. The outcome was fabulous.
Year 2 – Shaikhah for making good progress in her reading.
Year 3 – Allegra for following her plan and producing a beautifully sewn Christmas cushion.
Year 4 – Eva for impressing Miss Harding and Miss Bohdjalian with her dance moves.
Year 5 – Eleni for being ready to learn at the start of every lesson and contributing well during lessons.
Year 6 - Mia for focusing well in the first week back and great use of her reading record.
House of the Week
The House with the most house points this week is Fire! Well done Fire!
Year 2 - RE Topic
Year 2 are learning about Islam this term. If you are willing to do a talk about Islam to Y2, please contact Miss Wallbanks via the school office.
Bags 2 School
Don't forget we have a Bags 2 School collection next Weds 15th January so it would be great if you have time for a clear out this weekend. Any bags will do - please leave these outside by 9am. Please click here for a list of what you can include. Please note that we have to pay for removal of all items included which are not on the list.
Census Day - Change to School Menu
Next Thursday is census day when the government collects lots of data about our school. Some of this data determines our school funding. It really helps us if all children in Reception class and Years 1 and 2 order a lunch that day as this sets the funding we have available to pay for KS1 Universal Free School Meals. The menu will be as below. Jacket potatoes will also be available.
School Lunches - please clear all debts
The price for school lunches has increased slightly to £2.75. Please make sure there is money available on ParentPay in advance of your child having a school meal so that debts are not incurred with our catering provider.
With a new system in place over Christmas, a debt of £10 will mean your child cannot order another meal in school until the debt is cleared.
Currently a lot of time is being spent chasing up payments for meals which have been taken but not paid for. Many thanks for your help with this.
