Dear Parents and Carers,

Ascot Bake Off

A team of Year 5 represented Holy Trinity in the Ascot Bake-off on Wednesday and thoroughly enjoyed tasting all the other entries! They worked so well as a team and produced a very well put-together mood board and presentation. Thank you to Mrs Temple for her expertise and guidance!

Science Workshops

The children had a fun science day on Monday! Hopefully, they came home and regaled you with tales of their workshop.

Teachers will provide your child’s books to look through before/after your ten-minute meeting. Please come to the back of the hall door – all meetings will take place in the hall.

Year 5 – Fin, Alice and Abigail for representing Holy Trinity beautifully at the Ascot Racecourse Bake Off and all your hard work preparing for it.  Mrs O'Neill for your fantastic support and encouragement to our bakers as they prepared for the competition.

Year 6 - Jacob for leading his group so well during an acting task in RE.

House of the Week
The House with the most house points this week is Earth. Well done Earth!

Year 5/6 Girls Football Tournament

Our year 6 girls football team had an incredible afternoon out at the Marist School taking part in a football tournament, where they convincingly won their group! Without conceding a goal, they won their matches 2-0; 4-0; 1-0; and 6-0 with goals from Rosie (7), Sophie H (5) and Star (1). With some excellent goalkeeping, defending and shooting, the whole team were fantastic. The girls also showed good sportsmanship by lending a player to the opposition for the last game. I was super proud to see the girls representing Holy Trinity so well and living our values.

Mrs Steel - Chair of Governors (Thank you so much Mrs Steel for supporting the girls with the tournament.)

Science Workshops

On Monday, all classes were lucky to participate in a fun, exciting and inspiring science workshop, titled 'Curiosity- What’s your Question', which was delivered by the company Sparks2. The workshops enabled the children to see science in action and to see some wow enquiries. Enquiries included children being encased by a giant bubble, witnessing water magically disappear, watch changes in motion trying to make an egg drop into a tube and create a human circuit as their bodies conducted electricity.

A big thank you to the PTA for funding part of the workshop fee.

Mrs Rhodes - Science Lead

Ascot Racecourse Bake Off Competition

Three representatives from Year 5 took part in a Bake Off competition at the Racecourse this week.  Abigail, Alice and Fin were accompanies by Mrs O'Neill and represented the school wonderfully.   The theme was 'Honey' and the children's mood board included Sunny Honey which is produced in Sunningdale by Mr Creswell, who was a school parent and still works in school as a Volunteer Reader.  The children also discovered that beehives are kept in the centre of the racecourse.

We were invited to attend a day of singing at St. George's Festival Of Song run by Berkshire Music Trust. The Year 5s and Year 6s who attended were a credit to the school and performed beautifully for the parents.

Marathon Runner Raising money for CHAS

One of our very own parents is running the London Marathon 2026 for CHAS (Children's Hospices Across Scotland) - please do add your support if you can.  Danielle Smith is Mum to Teddy and Ronnie in Year 3:

'This is the first time CHAS has ever received London Marathon places. My reason for running for CHAS is that my nephew stayed in their hospices throughout his short time with us in the world. Unfortunately in 2023 my nephew passed away at just aged 13.

I have seen first hand the love and care CHAS pour into the families they have staying with them, not only do they help the children they help the families too so it is a really special charity very close to my heart!'

Alexander Devine Children's Hospice - Big Chick Knit!

We have sold all of our chicks!  Thank you for donating creme eggs and buying our chicks.  We have raised lots of money for the hospice and will let you know when we have the final total!
