Newsletter 20 - 9th February 2024

Dear Parents and Carers,

Many thanks for your contributions to the MUFTI day today.

World Thinking Day

Thursday 22nd March is World Thinking Day and we invite all Squirrels, Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts to come into school in their uniform. The theme this year is ‘Our World, Our Thriving Future’.

Sow Day

After school today, you’re invited to come to the table at the gate and plant a seed with your child to take home and nurture. Once it’s begun to grow, you can return it to school for planting in our allotment at the bottom of the field. There is no charge and we thank the volunteer parents who have organised and are running this.

Come and See

We are inviting parents/grandparents into school to see your child’s work in the classroom. This is an event we had in place pre Covid that we’re keen to re-introduce so that you and your child spend time sharing their learning together. In order to give you plenty of time to arrange the date is 2.45 – 3.15pm on Thursday 4th July.

Thank You to Staff

Our staff team show their dedication every single day. I’d like to extend my thanks to each and every one of them for their commitment and contributions to Holy Trinity.

Have a wonderful half term and we’ll see you on Monday 19th February.

World Book Day Tokens

World Book Day Tokens are valid from next Thursday 15th Feb so we have sent them home in book bags for the half term.  Please have a look in bags for these. Click here to see participating retailers and a list of £1 books. Tokens can also be used for £1 off other books costing £2.99 or more.

World Book Day - Friday 8th March

We will be celebrating World Book Day in school this year on Friday 8th March and children will be asked to dress up as characters from books!  More details will follow but this is just to give you the heads up to be thinking of costumes.

Calling all Bookworms!

Our library has now been up and running for a term and many children have been perusing the shelves and enjoying a book or two. We would love to have some book reviews to display in the library to help other children to decide which book to borrow. If you would like to take part, please write or type your book review and hand it in to your teacher or the office. I look forward to reading them. Happy reading over half term!

School Council Dinner Invite

This week, the School Council met with Katie who is our school catering manager. They discussed foods that they liked and foods that they didn’t, foods that they would like to see on future menus and the overall quality of school dinners. Katie will also be considering the results from the pupil questionnaires completed to inform future menus and make any changes to improve school dinners. In a few months’ time, Katie will speak to the School Council again to discuss any improvements made and any further needed.

Eco Committee Gardening Club

This week at Eco Warrier Gardening Club, we sowed melons, yes melons !! We also sowed mini cucumbers, sorrel & spinach. The daffodils we planted in November are starting to bloom, and the allotment Robin is becoming a regular much welcomed visitor.
We have almost finished laying the pathways and filling the raised beds, ready for young plants to be planted out over the coming months.

We’d be grateful for some help putting up a shelter for the water station & assembling some simple planters. Please contact Claire if you have some time to spare 07715469749.

Absence

Please leave a message on the school absence line on each and every day of any unplanned absence from school.  Please do leave details of illness so that we are aware of any common themes.  Do not use email to report absence as messages on the absence line and registers are generally dealt with at the beginning of the school day before emails.

Many thanks
