Windsor Flower Show

The Gardening Club wheelbarrow was Highly Commended at the Windsor Flower Show on Saturday!  With a beautiful array of flowers and a theme of 'Balance', what was particularly special about this year's wheelbarrow was that everything in it was grown from seed. Well done to the Gardening Club ably supported by Mrs Patel and Mrs Drewitt and Mr Drewitt supplying the transport.   Thank you!

Fabulous Football

On a very wet Monday morning, a team of years 3 & 4 girls took part in a football tournament against eight other teams from the local area. Because of the wet weather, not all matches were played so an official winner could not be announced. However, joint first place was given to three schools, including Holy Trinity, who could have won the tournament had all matches been played. The girls were fantastic and won all their games some by quite significant margins, and there was no moaning about the weather! Thank you very much to the parents who were able to stay and support as well. Girls you were great!

Little Princess Trust

Ottilie in Year 2 is donating her hair to the Little Princess Trust!  She would also love to raise enough money to have her hair transformed into a wig for a child in need of a confidence boost.

Please click here if you're able to contribute anything at all to Ottilie's Big Haircut.

Charters Literary Festival and Summer Fayre

A rare chance to meet real-life authors and creators, ask your questions, develop your skills and discover that your own story could be the next one waiting to be told

Charters School is proud to announce the launch of its first Literary Festival and Summer Fayre – Saturday 4th July from 12pm to 4pm - bringing together nationally recognised authors, professional writers, artists and the local community in a celebration of the National Year of Reading.

The Festival will showcase an exceptional programme of free workshops led by acclaimed author Ashley Hickson-Lovence, award-winning novelist and playwright Barney Norris, illustrator and graphic novelist Philip Kavvadias, members of Windsor Writers Guild, professional storyteller Ruth Jasmine and Charters School’s own drama specialist Miss Jordan, who trained at the renowned Rose Bruford College.

  • Ashley Hickson-Lovence – Step into the world of a celebrated author whose powerful stories have been shortlisted for major literary awards, and discover how your own experiences, ideas and imagination can become stories that deserve to be told.
  • Barney Norris – Meet an award-winning novelist and playwright whose books and plays have reached audiences across the world, and learn the secrets of creating unforgettable characters, gripping plots and stories that truly connect with people.
  • Philip Kavvadias – Unleash your creativity with an illustrator and graphic novelist who will show you how drawings, design and imagination can bring incredible worlds, heroes and adventures to life on the page.

Workshops will fill up quickly so book your place by clicking on the links in the schedule to secure your place today. The event has been designed to inspire a lifelong love of reading and creativity among young people, while also offering opportunities for families and the wider community to engage with literature in new and exciting ways. The Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead Libraries team will also attend, highlighting the wealth of reading opportunities available across the borough.

Alongside the Literary Festival, visitors will enjoy a traditional Summer Fayre, creating a day of celebration for the whole community.
