Newsletter 6 - 11th October 2024

Dear Parents and Carers,

It was wonderful to share our Harvest Services with you – the children did you proud and the food donations were generous! Thank you, we hope you enjoyed the services too.

Parents Consultation Meetings

You will be receiving an email inviting you to book a suitable time. The options are:

Monday 21st October 1- 5pm or Thursday 24th October 3.30 – 5pm

Please be respectful of the ten minute slot you have – whilst we know it’s not a long meeting, it is not possible to stick to the tight schedule if you overrun on your time. This affects other parents as well as staff.

Online Safety

For those parents who came to the Internet Safety Information Evening in June, we all had the same question: “How do we as parents keep up with what our children are accessing and using online?”. So, I will be sharing various ‘help sheets’ with you so that you can read about apps or games your child may be accessing. I hope you find them useful. This week is Roblox (PDF also below):

Enjoy the weekend.

Mrs Griffith

Football Tournament at Braywick Leisure Centre

It was a privilege to accompany the Years 5 & 6 Boys Football A Team to their first tournament on Monday at Braywick. Ten teams from RBWM played including St. Michael’s, Cheapside, Dedworth Middle School, Trevelyan Middle School and St. Mary’s, the latter of whom were the winners. The team played nine games, winning three and drawing one. The boys produced many chances and kept the goals scored against them to a minimum. Goals were scored by Ollie, Luke, Husayn, Jake and Gabriel, and there were some great saves from Fraser too. They played fantastically, coming seventh out of ten teams. Thank you to the many parents who were able to come along and support. We hope to be playing in another competition soon.

Author Visit

On Friday 4th October, Years 1 and 2 were lucky enough to have a visit from a local resident, Shadi Halliwell. Shadi has written a beautiful story entitled The Legend Of the Tailless Prince following her recent safari experience. Shadi encountered a magnificent elephant who had lost his tail.  After observing him closely, Shadi felt compelled to write his story to emphasise that we don't have to be perfect to be extraordinary. Such a powerful message for all of us and we are very grateful to her for coming to spread her positivity.

Parking

The Village Hall is private property and the car park is for users of the Village Hall only  Please don't use the Village Hall car park for dropping off or picking up from Holy Trinity.  Many thanks.
