Dear Parents and Carers,
We have come to the end of another half term. How time flies!
Class Assembly
Well done to Y1 for their brilliant assembly yesterday – you wowed us all! Our last Class Assembly of the year is Reception Class at 9am on Thursday 25th June. Parents are invited to join us via the hall back door on Church Road.
Lunchtime Play Activities
This week, School Council wrote a letter to the PTA Chairs requesting funding for some additional playtime equipment. The PTA kindly agreed and so the lists of equipment the classes came up with have been ordered. Well, within reason, the roller coaster was a no-go! I thought you’d like to see some of activities the children currently enjoy:
PTA Summer Fair
Saturday 13th June 12 – 4pm on the school field. Any offers of help gratefully received! On Friday 12th June we invite the children to wear MUFTI in return for a bottle for the tombolo.
Children’s Commissioner Big Future Survey
Dame Rachell De Souza is seeking the views of children:
‘I want to hear from children aged 0–18 from every background, in every part of the country. I’m asking children about the things they enjoy, the challenges they face, the changes they want to see in their communities, and what they think a good childhood should look like today.’
To complete the survey please click here.
INSET Day
We have an INSET day on Monday 1st June and will welcome the children back on Tuesday 2nd June for their final half term of the academic year.
Enjoy the Half term!
Mrs Griffith

PTA Co Chair Needed for September
Would you like to get stuck in to organising some fund raising with the school PTA? Please talk to school leaders, office staff or current PTA chairs if you're at all interested in working on this role with another co chair. You will be well supported by school staff and previous co-chairs and the usual tasks will be clearly defined - although new ideas are welcome too.
Year 5/6 Handball Tournament
On Thursday, 10 students from years 5 and 6 took part in a Handball tournament at Charters, and came away with a very respectable 3rd place! The team played very well considering some had not played a match before. They were commended particularly for their sportsmanship and respect, even when referee calls didn't go their way or opposition teams were quite physical. Shout out in particular to Rosie, Ariana and Saffie for their goals. And to Ariana, Zach and Fin for winning the Charters' Unity, Respect and Excellence values awards.
