Newsletter 21 - 24th February 2023

Dear Parents and Carers,

We hope you all had a great half term with family and friends.  There are certainly glimmers of hope this week that spring is approaching with the ‘slightly’ warmer weather and flowers appearing in our Spiritual Garden and around the school.  We celebrate World Book Day on Friday 3rd March next week and if you are able to come and read a story during the day, please get in touch with your child’s class teacher.

We do have some cases of chicken pox in school and a stomach bug is still doing the rounds.  Please can I urge you not to send your child to school with a raised temperature managed with paracetamol or ibruprofen and to keep children with stomach upsets at home for at least 48 hours from the last episode of gastric upset.  Illnesses spread very quickly in a school environment.  Thank you so much for this.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend

Mrs Barnes

Assistant Head

Friendships are also affected.  Holiday absences will show up as persistent absence which is checked by Ofsted when they visit and monitored closely each half term by the Education Welfare Officer at RBWM.  Please note that changes are afoot which may require the issuing of fixed penalty notices for holiday taken during school term time.
