Dear Parents and Carers,

We are heading towards the end of the school year at a fast pace!

September Staffing

Unfortunately, we are not yet in a position to be able to share class teacher information for September. We realise that this is very late and we would normally have shared this information with you and the children by now. Please bear with us and we will inform you as soon as we’re able to.

September Start Time

You will have received a letter detailing the altered start time in September. We will open the gates from 8.30am and registration will be 8.45am.

End of year reports

Your child will be bringing home their reports next Friday.

Enjoy the sunny weekend,

Mrs Griffith

House of the Week
The House with the most house points this week is Water! Well done Water!

Sports for School Day

In June we had a Sports for Schools day.  Children from all classes were hosted and inspired by Paralympian and multi World Record Holder Nerys Pearce (read more about Nerys here) through a set of sponsored circuits!  It was so fast paced that we don't have a single photo that isn't blurred!!!  And guess what?  Sponsorship collected by yourselves and the children means we have nearly £2k to spend on sports equipment for school!  Thank you to the children for working so hard with Nerys and for everyone who was so generous with their sponsorship.

Year 6 Residential Trip to Mill on the Brue

Last week our Year 6 classes travelled to the Mill on the Brue Outdoor Activity Centre in Somerset for a week of outdoor challenge and fun!  Unfortunately the trip was somewhat affected by illness but the children and staff soldiered on creating some memorable experiences.  Please see the Year 6 Class Pages for lots of photos of the children joining in with all that Mill on the Brue has to offer.  Here are a few photos of 6W:

Year 5 Sculptures

In Year 5, we have been learning about coastal features such as headlands, caves, arches, stacks and stumps. We have created sculptures of Old Harry Rocks, which we viewed from Studland during our residential trip in May.

Year 4 Trip to Marwell Zoo

On Monday the 4th July, year 4 went on an exciting school trip to Marwell Zoo to learn more about animals and their habitats. We saw penguins swimming underwater, flamingos huddling in a group and inquisitive meerkats.

in our workshop, we learned that giraffes have four stomachs. Did you know that?

Unfortunately, we did not see Santos the sloth, in the tropical rainforest because, he had eaten too much and was sleeping, but we did see many colourful birds,  pretty butterflies and busy ants.

We all had a wonderful day!

Mrs Rhodes - Year 4 Teacher

Year 4 Pentecost Assembly

Year 4 performed their wonderful Pentecost Assembly to Years 1 and 2 through drama and song.  We certainly witnessed the gift of the Holy Spirit coming into our lives and the power of doing good and being happy.  The confidence in the performance was a joy to see.  Thank you.

Year 4 - Emilia Joins Taplow Girls' Choir

On Wednesday 7th July after two weeks of waiting, I finally found out that I got into the Taplow Girls' Choir.  I had been in Taplow Children's Choir for a very long time, so I was excited to get in to the choir.  I will be their youngest member.

Emilia - Class 4

Year 1 - Oh I do like to be beside the seaside!

The seaside came to Class 1 this week as we explored how seaside holidays are different from the past.  We looked at how holiday makers got to the seaside, what they wore and what they did when they were there.  Here are some photos of our workshop – all that was missing was the ice cream!  Thank you to our Year 6 buddies for all your help too!

Cerys Completes Race for Life

On Saturday, Cerys from Class 6W took part in the Race for Life and ran 5k to raise money for Cancer Research. She ran with her Uncle, Aunty and Auntie's Dad. They raised over £250 which contributed to a total amount of over £160,000 at their event at Kempton.  Well done Cerys!
