Newsletter 26 - 28th March 2024

Dear Parents and Carers,

It was wonderful to see so may of you attend the Easter services this week – we do hope that you enjoyed them; I have received some lovely comments from parents. Well done to all the children and staff who helped them prepare.

We have had a busy week! Maths Day was a success – thank you to all the children who took time to prepare such creative outfits! It’s not easy to fit the brief of a ‘Maths Outfit!’. Another huge thank you to the parents who came in to the classes to talk to the children about maths and provide stimulating activities. Also to Mr Sleigh (whose children used to attend Holy Trinity) who discussed how maths fits into the world of work. Thank you all for your contributions and to Mrs Neale for organising.

Break the Rules Day today is very well supported once again. It’s a joy to see children embracing the day!

PTA have kindly provided all the children with an Easter Egg – I’m sure they will be enjoyed!

So, the elephant in the room is how the Ofsted Inspection went for us. I’m not able to share the outcome as it has to remain confidential until the report is published. This may not be for a few weeks yet. What I can say is another thank you for taking part in the survey, a thank you to all the staff for their commitment and my biggest thank you goes to all your children.

We hope you enjoy a wonderful Easter break and we’ll see you back in school on Monday 15th April.

Mrs Griffith

House of the Week
The House with the most house points this week is Water! Well done Water!

Maths Day

Yesterday we spent a lovely day in school celebrating all things Maths. All classes took on challenges, solved problems and thoroughly enjoyed themselves as you can see.  We would like to put out a great big thank you to all the adults who ran activities (parents and volunteers especially) for giving up their time and coming into school to share their love of maths.  Please see pupil report and photos below.

Maths Day was great; we had visitors, fancy dress and to top that off we had an amazing time doing only maths quizzes for the whole day!  My favourite was definitely doing the investigation.  It was Mathstastic because we had to figure out, by solving problems,  who attempted a murder on Michaela Maths (the world class women's footballer) by only using Maths skills.

Aidan P - Year 6

Brilliant Benchball

On Friday last week some of years 4 & 6 took part in an impromptu house Benchball tournament. It was great fun and the children worked fantastically well in their teams. Congratulations to Water who were the winning team.

Eco Club Update

A huge well done to Junior and Sam in Year 5, for running the Eco Committee Sow Day. They did the most fantastic job and raised £50 for the PTA. We can’t wait to see and hear about how your magic beans are growing.

As ever we are still in need of compost so if you are popping into the garden centre over Easter please do grab a few bags for us.
