Stars of the Week for w/e 29th March 2019

Reception – Simar for always being a kind, mature, fun member of the class and for super progress with her reading.

Year 1 – Alex W for working really hard and maintaining great focus and attention.

Year 2 – Amelia for her brilliant growth mindset approach to her learning this week and putting her hand up to challenge herself.

Class 3C – To all of 3C – so many adults in school have commented on your sensible behaviour this week!

Class 3G – Harry for working really hard on his reading and producing some great work. 

Year 4 – Alisha for working really hard on her newspaper article.

Year 5 - Christos for making great progress in Biodiversity.

Year 6 – Mikey for his great attitude to learning – keep it up!

House of the Week!

The House with the most House Points this week is Fire again!  Well done Fire and enjoy your extra playtime today!

Easter Services

We do hope you'll be able to come along to our Easter Services next week.  The children have been working very hard in preparation!  The services are as follows:

Monday - 9.30am - Holy Trinity Church - Years 1, 3 and 5

Tuesday - 9.30am - Holy Trinity Church - Years Reception, 2, 4 and 6

Reps from Class 6 will be serving tea, coffee and a sweet treat for a £1 before the services begin.

Year 3 Study Measurement

Year 3 went outside in the sunshine to try and find out how many times they had to throw a beanbag to reach 200m. We used our addition and subtraction techniques as you can see below. 

Ascot Racecourse - Royal Ascot Art Competition

We have once again submitted some fabulous entries to the Royal Ascot Art Competition.  This year the racecourse have opened up the voting so that parents and students can vote for their favourite art work too!  Winning entries will be displayed in the famous Heath Tunnel during Royal Ascot in June.  Please click on the link below to register your votes:

Voting will remain open until Sunday 7th April and winners will be announced on Wednesday 10th April.  Winning artists and schools will be presented with their prizes at the Victoria Cup Raceday on Saturday 11th May 2019.  

Loose Parts?

If you are having a spring sort out Reception and KS1 are looking out for the following:
Hama beads, loom bands, pine cones, wooden spoons, buckets and spades, old phones, wooden storage boxes and baskets.

School Clubs

All school clubs finish this week with the exception of Cookery which will be on next Monday 1st April.  Please make sure diaries are up to date and children are picked up from school on time next week.  Most clubs have published booking information now for the summer term and this has been uploaded to our website.  Please book early so that registers can be prepared well in advance and school staff know which children are attending clubs.  All clubs will start in the summer term w/c 29th April.

Scholastic Book Club

PTA News

TODAY!! Year 4 Bake Sale - bring your pennies!

TODAY!! School Disco (If your child has had a change of mind do bring them and pay £5 at the door!)

Children need to be signed in in the hall and then collected from their classroom.

5pm-5.50pm - KS1 
6pm-7pm - KS2


3rd April - Easter Egg Hunt

£2 for your child to participate in the crossword challenge at school - leave in an envelope with your child's name and class in the PTA box. NB Eggs will be taken home for consumption.

Friday 26th April - Year 6 Bake Sale
Monday 13th May - Final PTA meeting of the Year (agenda Summer Fair and Picnic).
Saturday 29th June - Summer Fair  - Class Reps will be in touch shortly with planned activities
Friday 5th July - School Picnic (back up date Friday 12th July).

Until 14th April, John Lewis & Partners are offering a bonus £5, on top of their normal cashback donation, when parents shop with them for the first time through easyfundraising*. What a great opportunity to get parents raising more - if just 10 parents shop, that’s a £50 bonus for the PTA, plus the donations earned on shopping too.
