Dear Parents and Carers,
You may have heard this week the government’s announcement around SATs testing in primary schools. We will be writing to parents in Year 2 and Year 6 to explain what the changes will be.
It's been very Christmassy around school this week. The sounds of Carols and Christmas songs have been floating through the school and the classrooms are looking very festive. I’m wondering how many breakfasts have included the goodies from behind Advent Calendar doors this week?! We have enjoyed listening to the daily Advent videos that Reverend Jon has created. The link is here if you have missed them.
I wanted to extend my thanks to you all and to the PTA for your donations for the wonderful class hampers. They look truly fantastic! Watch out for the winners being drawn tomorrow. Fingers crossed!

House of the Week
The House with the most house points this week is Earth! Well done Earth!
Year 1 Banquet
To celebrate the end of our topic, Kings, Queens and Castles, Year 1 held a very special Royal Banquet on Monday. We wrote an invitation and asked our Year 2 buddies to join us. We dressed up, made decorations and prepared all of the delicious party food ourselves. We chose some healthy food options such as cucumber and carrots sticks, cheese and pineapple kebabs and cheese and jam sandwiches. Of course we needed a sweet treat too so we decorated cup cakes with icing and sprinkles. We learned that Queen Victoria loved jelly so Mrs Rhodes made some at home for us too. What a feast! We all had such a fantastic time.
Spare Shoes for the School Field
Just a reminder that children can only use the field if they have a spare pair of shoes or trainers in school. These can be trainers, wellies or ‘snow boot’ type shoes. They should NOT be football boots or astros. Many thanks.
Gorgeous Hampers
Thank you so much to the parents who have produced these stunning hampers for the PTA Christmas Raffle and for all your donations towards their luscious contents! Good luck in the raffle at the weekend!
Poppy Appeal 2020
Thanks to your enormous generosity, we were able to contribute £639.97 to the Royal British Legion this year which is nearly £200 more than last year and 10% of the district total. This is great news at a time when charities are struggling. The overall district total was less than 50% of last years takings from the Poppy Appeal so we are pleased to have been able to make such a significant contribution this year. Thank you once again!
Year 6 Christmas Jumper Sale
Year 6 have been recycling Christmas Jumpers for sale to raise funds for Year 6 leaving festivities next year. There are some newly added jumpers and a few still available to buy. Please click here to see their lovely Catalogue.
Wishing Tree
We would very much like to buy a couple of wireless outdoor microphones. The microphones cost about £50 each. Might you be able to help us with this? Please contact Mrs Poulter in the school office in the first instance if so.
