Newsletter 14 - 11th December 2020

Dear Parents and Carers,
It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas in school this week; Film Night and Christmas Lunch were both successful and enjoyable. We’re really pleased that we can still provide some Christmas fun for the children.
Next week we have Christmas Parties and the Christingle to look forward to. As well as Christmas Mufti day (£2 donation) next Friday (we finish at 1.30pm).
I’d like to say a special thank you to Maisie in Y5 who has donated £50 of her own money towards new microphones. She loves singing and has very generously offered to help us. Thank you Maisie – this is a wonderfully kind thing to do.
Another special mention this week also goes to Nathaniel in Y6 who created a very impressive lesson for his classmates on technology in WWI. We’re very proud of you Nataniel – your enthusiasm for history is inspiring!
The Bishop of Oxford has a special message to the children of the diocese. He has requested their help. You can hear his message here. If you would like to send him your best joke, the details of how to do so are underneath the video.
Finally, you will be aware from the email I sent to you earlier in the week that we will not be making next Friday an INSET day. You may have heard in the news that the government have allowed schools to move one of the other planned INSET days to do so.
Thank you for all your kind words in recognition of all that staff are doing for your children at the moment – they really do mean a lot.
Have a lovely weekend,
Mrs Griffith

Donation to Buy Microphones

I wanted to donate £50 to buy the school microphone because I really like singing and acting which both use microphones.  I also just felt like it and I didn't know what to spend my pocket money on so I decided to give some to the school.

Maisie - Class 5W

Wow thanks Maisie - this is going above and beyond!  We are truly thankful for your very generous donation.

Year 1 Pyjama Day

Well done to Year 1 for earning 100 marbles again for their amazing behaviour and enthusiasm in learning.
They chose to wear their pyjamas into school on Tuesday as a treat.

Year 6 Christmas Coordinates!

Year 6 have been getting in the Christmas spirit in Maths through plotting coordinates on the four quadrants.  We started with Rudolf, Holly and Frosty the snowman in the 1st quadrant and are moving on to completing the Elf challenge across 4 quadrants.  Would you like a Christmas challenge completing Santa?
