Newsletter 11 - 19th November 2021

Dear Parents and Carers,

Well, this week (actually it started last weekend!) has been one of the most difficult weeks we have had in school since the pandemic began. Like so many of you have said to me in passing this week, we’ve been so lucky that we haven’t experienced the disruption before this. A heartfelt thank you to all those parents who have taken the time to voice your support and pass on your gratitude for all that the staff are doing at this tough time.

We end the week with 22 pupils and 3 staff testing positive leading us to closing Year 1 and Year 3 and moving their learning to remote provision via the class pages and Teams. I’m praying hard that this will have the desired effect and that we won’t be in a position where we have to close the whole school again.

We are asking for your support in:

  • Wearing face coverings at drop off and pick up. (If your child wishes to wear a face covering in school they are welcome to do so).
  • Consider doing LF tests twice weekly with your child and for the following 7 days after a negative PCR test.
  • Do not send your child to school if they are showing any symptoms or are unwell.

Please use this guide on our website or call the office if you have any further queries.

Christmas

As you have probably guessed already, we’ve had to change our plans for Christmas Nativity and Service too. We’re determined that the children will still experience performing (with a tea-towel on their head maybe!) and be able to celebrate so we will video/take photos of the Nativities and make them available to you. We’re so disappointed not to be able to invite you in for a second year running but we’ll make sure the children enjoy the festive period.

We will be holding Christmas parties. The children can come to school in their party clothes. PTA will kindly provide crisps and a drink:

  • Reception and KS1 Tuesday 14th December
  • KS2 Wednesday 15th December

The last day of term is a Christmas Jumper day.

Christmas lunch is on Wednesday 8th December.

Film Night can go ahead on Tuesday 7th December.

Vacancy: Y1 Teaching Assistant

We wish Miss Hing all the very best as she awaits the birth of her first child! We are looking to appoint a full time TA from January to fill Miss Hing’s shoes. If you know of anyone who may be interested, please ask them to call Mrs Poulter in the office.

Thank you once again for being so patient and showing such understanding this week. Let’s all pray the situation improves quickly.

Mrs Griffith

Absence

Although tempting as we have not been able to travel freely for so long, please do not book holidays or family days during term time.  These will show up as persistent absence which is checked by Ofsted when they visit and monitored each half term by the Education Welfare Officer at RBWM.  Thank you.

Holy Trinity CE Primary School take safeguarding very seriously. If you have a concern, please do not hesitate to report to our designated staff;

Mrs J. Griffith, Mrs C Barnes, Miss S. Harding, Mrs F Fargher

Please do not send your child to school if they're unwell or with a high temperature controlled by paracetamol or ibuprofen.  Don't forget that your child must not return to school until at least 48 hours after the last episode of any gastric upset (vomiting or diarrhoea).
