Newsletter 24 - 13th March 2026

Dear Parents and Carers,

Well done to Year 3 for their wonderful Class Assembly yesterday. We invite Year 4 parents to attend their Class Assembly at 9am on Thursday 23rd April.

Parent Workshop

Our Educational Psychologist, Dr Jo Slifi, presented our first workshop on Emotion Coaching and Building Resilience on Monday morning. I hope the parents who were able to attend found it useful. She will be presenting the second workshop on Wednesday 22nd April 8.45 – 10am in the school hall. If you would like to take a look at the materials we were looking at, please see our website here.

Parents’ Consultation Meetings

These 10-minute meetings will take place in the school hall on Wednesday 25th March and Thursday 26th March. Please enter via the back of the hall door on Church Road. You will have a chance to look through your child’s books as well.

Science Workshop

Mrs Rhodes (Science Lead) has organised a Science workshop for every class during the day on Monday 16th March. Thank you to the PTA for part-funding this opportunity.

Transforming Trinity

As you are probably aware, Holy Trinity Church will be closing from Monday for the renovation works to begin. Church services on a Sunday will take place in the school hall from 22nd March until further notice.

Wishing you all lovely weekend and a very Happy Mothers’ Day to all the Mums in our community!

Well done to all of our Stars this week

Year 2 – James for an incredible recount of our trip to Brooklands.

Year 3 – Emily for making lots of sensible suggestions in class discussions.

Year 4 – All of year 4 for their enthusiasm and behaviour on our residential trip to Phasels Wood.

Year 5 – Joseph for making a good effort with his handwriting in English

Year 6 - Indira for some very persuasive ideas on government policy in PSHE - perhaps a cabinet minister in our midst!

House of the Week
The House with the most house points this week is Fire. Well done Fire!

Easter Chicks!

Our Spiritual Leaders have stuffed all of our Easter Chicks with your donated creme eggs - thank you so much for the donations - we don't need any more now!  Just a few chicks left for sale in support of the Alexander Devine Children's Hospice next week.  Thank you for all of your purchases so far.

BBC 500 Words!

We are so proud of Sam P in Year 6 who received one of only 50 'Highly Commended' accolades in the BBC 500 words competition - from 46,500 entries.  Well done Sam - what an amazing achievement!

Year 5/6 Netball Tournament - Royal Holloway

Last Friday I took the Year 5/6 Netball teams to a Hi-5 Netball tournament at Royal Holloway.

What an afternoon!  The rain absolutely poured down but that didn't stop either team's commitment or enthusiasm.

We played against the following schools: - St Jude's, St Cuthbert's and Manorcroft.

Team A won all their matches (16-0, 8-0, 4-0, 1-0)

Team B won 3 and lost one (4-3, 3-0, 0-1, 1-0)

Both Holy Trinity teams won their respective pools and faced each other in the final.

After the first half Team B were winning  2-1 and in the second half with Zac L's super shooting - Team A clinched victory 6-2.

Some fabulous netball was played - I was very proud of you all.   A big congratulations to Miss Harding for preparing the teams so well.

A huge thank you all the parents that stayed and got drenched with me!  I hope you warmed up when you got home.

Handball Masterclass

On Tuesday after school, a group of 16 children from years 5 & 6 took part in a Handball Masterclass at Charters in readiness for a tournament later this year. They were able to develop and strengthen their existing knowledge and skills. The activities were great fun and I’m sure they will be keen to take part in the competition in May. Well done!
