Week 1 17/04/26

Welcome Back to the start of the Summer Term!!

HOMEWORK BEGINS AGAIN!!

Please continue to read with your child daily - this is the most crucial home learning we ask of you this year.

A reminder that each week we will continue to set spellings to be learnt for a 'check' the following Friday.  The focus sounds will have already been taught in class.  We will also continue to set 3-4 Mathletics tasks each week.  Logins for Mathletics should be in your reading diaries but please do let us know if there are any difficulties logging in.

Spellings

In class we continue to encourage children to use robot arms to 'sound out' the word - it would be great if you could support this method at home so they learn to break the word up successfully into the sounds needed.  They should be experts at this by now!!

These words are for the 24th April!!

BIG PROJECT HOMEWORK - Design and Make a Moon Buggy!!

Following the excitement of Artemis II and linking in with our DT topic, we would like you to design and make a Moon Buggy to show in class!! This project will need you to find all your recycling and craft materials from around the house and think carefully about how to make an amazing buggy that can travel across the bumps and dips of the moon, carry two astronauts safely, be cool to look at and has a storage spot for food and equipment!! How will you make the wheels turn? How will you make it strong? How will you decorate it?

Please complete a design BEFORE starting to make (and please return the design with the finished buggy).  We will compare designs and finished products at the end to see how much you copied and what parts you changed.  Have fun with your family creating and we look forward to seeing them.  Can we ask for all buggies to be brought in on MONDAY 18th MAY and we will have 6 children a day presenting for the final week before half term.  Have Fun and be as creative as you can!!
