Newsletter 19 - 30th January 2026

Dear Parents and Carers,

Goodbye January!

We welcome February with open arms!

Ascot Fire Brigade Trust

We approached the charity to request help funding the new flooring in our Reading Room. They generously donated £3,000 - we are very grateful!

They said: "We enjoyed seeing the library our charity contributed towards looking so fantastic.  What has been done to the space is incredible, it will obviously be a useful and positive environment for the children and is an asset to the school. "

Parent Workshop

Please save the date in your diary for a parent workshop on Monday 9th March 8.45 - 10am. This workshop will be led by our Educational Psychologist sharing strategies and information about how we can support our children with their emotions and regulating. If you are interested in attending the workshop, please sign up here.

Wishing you all a lovely weekend,

Mrs Griffith

Y6 Maths Competition

On Tuesday 20th January, Immie, Jacob, Ariana and Indira took part in the UKMT primary maths challenge at Papplewick School. They were up against approx. 12 other schools including St Anthonys from Hampstead, Newtons Prep from Battersea, Hoe Bridge – Woking, Crosfields – Reading and Lambrook.

There were several rounds some with the children working as a team, others where they worked in pairs and a round where they worked initially as a pair but with their answers being passed to their team mates to be used in the next question.

The group worked very well as a team and finished in 5th place ahead of both our local schools – St Francis and St Michael's. Mrs Hunter was very proud of their achievement and behaviour! Well done to all.

Basketball Masterclass

On Wednesday after school, some Years 5 & 6 children went to Charters and took part in a basketball masterclass led by Charters Sports Leaders, participating in a range of different activities to develop and hone their skills. The final activity was a shoot-out; Isabella A, Fin and Husayn represented our three groups, and Fin came second overall, missing out to a child from South Ascot Village School. Well done to everyone who came and thank you to Mrs Rhodes and Miss Harding for attending with the children.
