Newsletter 1 - 5th September 2025

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome back to that new school year!

A special welcome to all our new pupils and parents who have joined us in Reception class and across the school.

The children have settled back in really well – they all look very smart and ready for the learning ahead of them. Year 6 have started the year as they mean to go on – being great role models and taking on additional responsibilities.

Thank you from the staff for all your cards and gifts at the end of the summer term – they were very gratefully received.

Name labels

Please do make sure all your child's belongings are labelled clearly - especially jumpers!

Termly Fund on ParentPay

We ask that you contribute to the termly fund for your child. This fund is used to provide trips, visits and workshops. You will receive a letter from your child’s teacher with details of the planned trips as they take place. Without your contributions we may not be able to go ahead with the trip so do please log in to your ParentPay account and contribute. If you need any support logging in, please contact Mrs Poulter in the office. Reception Class parents; you will be receiving a letter with instructions of how to set up your account.

Reading Room

Our newly refurbished Reading Room is beautiful!

The funds raised by PTA have been put to very good use and the children are enjoying their new space. The only job left is to replace the flooring.

So a huge thank you for supporting all the fundraising to help us achieve this.

Skipping Workshop

We are excited to have Skipping Workshops for the whole school on Tuesday 9th September. Please make sure your child is wearing PE kit and trainers to school.

Attachment Aware Award

Last year, we embarked on a 3 year project to become an Attachment Aware School. This involves a deeper understanding of children’s emotions and how to support and coach them with their emotions. I am delighted to say that we have been awarded our Bronze Level and we are continuing this year with our Silver Level. This will involve sharing this approach with you as parents  so please do look out for further information on this.

Gold Sports Award

Another award I’m very pleased to share with you! We've been awarded this for the opportunities we provide for our pupils to engage in sports within school and with other teams. I’d like to thank Governors and Parents who have been able to offer their help with sporting competitions – and of course Miss Harding for liaising with other schools and teams to plan these opportunities.

As we embark on a new school year together, let’s take a moment to breathe and be thankful for new starts.

Enjoy the weekend,

Mrs Griffith
