Newsletter 7 - 17th October 2025

Dear Parents, Guardians and Carers,

Thank you for your donations of pre-loved dressing up outfits – enjoy the sale today!

Class timetables and Curriculum

Just a reminder that your child’s class timetable and their curriculum of learning for the year can be found on their Class Page on our website.

Parents Consultation Meetings

Wednesday 19th November and Thursday 20th November.

You will be sent an invite closer to the time to book a 10-minute slot to meet with your child’s teacher.

Author Visiting

Phillip Kavvadias will be visiting school next Friday 24th October. He will be selling his books in the playground after school. He has visited us before and the children have enjoyed his books!

Smartphone Free Childhood

Just a reminder that we fully support this movement. Maybe you’re beginning to start thinking about Christmas presents; if you have an older child and are considering buying them a phone then please do take a look at the alternatives to smart phones. This information may provide some further details for you.

MUFTI

Next Friday (24th Oct) is the last day of term. It is also a MUFTI day – we invite the children to wear their own choice of clothes for a £2 donation to the PTA via ParentPay or in cash on the day.

Parent Tip

This week I’ve included a guide on healthy sleeping habits. We all know how important sleep is and how we all feel if we haven’t had quite enough! I hope you find it helpful.

INSET Day

We have an INSET (teacher training) day on Monday 3rd November so the children return on Tuesday 4th November.

Have a lovely weekend,

Mrs Griffith

Year 5 – Nellie for challenging herself in Maths and completing some great independent work.

Year 6 - Taylor for a fantastic idea in Sentence Stacking this week.

The House with the most house points this week is Air! Well done Air!

We are closing our shop/online orders to enable us to conduct an annual stock take. Unfortunately, we will be unable to take any new orders after 5pm on Friday 17th October and the website will be put under maintenance until Monday 3rd November

Thank you for your continued support and patience while we conduct this vital administrative task.

Sunningdale Village Hall - Chairperson Needed

Sunningdale Village Hall has played a large part of Sunningdale's community for over 100 years and is home to our much needed and beloved preschool and after school club, as well as many other clubs, parties and activities many of us attend and host. The Village Hall is a charity, and its continued existence very much depends on a dedicated group of volunteers – the Trustees – who are willing to give their time, their enthusiasm, and their life skills to ensure the Village Hall continues to thrive well into the future. We are currently looking for a new chair and would love to hear from anyone who wants to ensure the heart of our community continues to run as smoothly as it has. We have a great operational team in place, so this is a purely strategic, governance and oversight position. Please reach out to Jo Hermon (year 3 mum) if you are interested to have a chat. You can email the Trustee Board at:  admin@svhcommunity.co.uk
