Newsletter 29 - 2nd May 2025

Dear Parents and Carers,

Our vision is for our pupils to flourish in an inclusive, inspirational place of learning where we are happy, respectful, kind and safe.

Year 5 Residential

Thank you to Mrs Pinkerton, Miss Harding and Miss Lazar for providing the wonderful opportunity to Year 5 to experience their 3-day residential down in Dorset. These are the memories that stay the longest so thank you to the staff for organising and giving up their time to attend.

Year 3 Class Assembly

Parents are invited to join us in the hall for Year 3's assembly; 9am on Thursday 8th May.  Come to the hall door on Church Road.

Parents Information Meeting for Year 1 Phonics Screening

Y1 parents are invited to hear Mrs Barnes discussing the Year 1 Phonics Screening check that your child will do in June at 3.15 on Tuesday 6th May. Mrs Griffith will look after the children in the Happy Hub for the duration of the meeting.

Film Night

KS1 Film - Despicable Me

KS2 Film - Angry Birds 2

Bags2School - Free Eco-Friendly Fundraising!

We will be collecting your unwanted clothes and footwear on Tuesday 6th May before 9am. Please bring any bags to the school car park before 9am. This is a win for you clearing out unwanted clothes and a win for the school to raise funds!

Please support us if you can by bringing any of the below items:

Mini-Marathon Runners

Well done to all the Mini-Marathon Runners - what a fabulous experience! Your medals are very shiny. Thank you for raising money for our school as well.

Ascot Art Competition

Your entries were wonderful! It truly is a growing competition with so many schools now taking part.

We have exciting news: we have a winner! Rae in Y2 has won the age 4-6 category. How fantastic. You can see her art below that will be re-created on boards through the tunnel. Well done Rae - we're very proud of you!

Parent Tips

Even though the recommended age for a TikTok account is 13, we know that many primary agreed children access this app regularly. Hopefully, you will find this guide informative and useful.

Bikes and Scooters in the Playground

A gentle reminder that children (including pre-schoolers) should not be riding their bikes and scooters on the playground or in the carpark for safety reasons. Please do remind your children and help us with this one!

Enjoy the Bank Holiday weekend - we'll see you back in school on Tuesday.

Mrs Griffith
