Newsletter 26 - 28th March 2025

Dear Parents and Carers,

Our vision is for our pupils to flourish in an inclusive, inspirational place of learning where we are happy, respectful, kind and safe.

This weekend marks the clocks springing forward and brings the promise of some lovely warm weather! Thank you for all your donations over the past few weeks – books for the Book Fair, Crème Eggs for the Big Chick Knit and for buying the chicks too! You raised over £300 for the Alexander Devine Children's Hospice.  Your generosity is greatly appreciated.

Our Spiritual Leaders would like to thank you for your generosity in providing Easter Treats for the Holy Trinity Church Foodbank - we can accept treats up until the end of Monday 31st March.

Easter Services

You are invited to join us at Holy Trinity Church next week for the 9.15am services:

Monday 31st March – Y1, Y3 and Y5.

Tuesday 1st April – Reception, Y2, Y4 and Y6

Parents Consultation Meetings

We look forward to welcoming you to school on Wednesday 2nd April and Thursday 3rd April.  There will be the opportunity to have a look through your child's book at this time as well.  Please be mindful of sticking to your allocated 10 minutes to avoid causing timing issues. Do contact the school office if you haven’t received the email invite to book.

PTA Easter Eggs

The children will be receiving an Easter Egg from the PTA on the last day of term and will be bringing them home next Friday.

End of Term

Our last day of the Spring Term is next Friday 4th April. Please collect your child in the usual way at 1.30pm. Please note, there are no extra-curricular clubs before or after school next week. (Breakfast Club will still be available every morning and Pre School after school club will be available Monday to Thursday.)

Have a lovely weekend and for those families in our community who are celebrating Eid al-Fitr when it comes, Eid Mubarak!  Enjoy the celebrations.

Mrs Griffith

Year 3/4 Boys' Football Tournament

Thank you to our Governors Mrs Boaler and Mrs Steel who accompanied two teams in a football tournament at Braywick Leisure Centre this week with other schools from the Borough. Mrs Steel said:

'Year 3 and year 4 both did really well with year 4 narrowly missing out winning the tournament by 1 point, and year 3 improving throughout the tournament to secure a win and 2 draws despite many of the team never having played a competitive game before.

All the boys were really well behaved, representing our school beautifully and living our Holy Trinity Rules.'

Year 3 Trip to Neasden Temple

Year 3 went on a school trip to Neasden Temple in London. They had a brilliant time visiting and learning about Hindu gods and goddesses.

Royal Ascot Schools Art Competition

Short-listed entries for the Royal Ascot Local Schools Competition are now live!!  Please click here to cast your votes:

ROYAL ASCOT SCHOOLS ART COMPETITION | Ascot Racecourse

Holy Trinity has six entries short listed in the primary sections so please look out for these!  It would be great to continue our winning tradition again this year with winning entries turned into giant placards used to decorate the Heath Tunnel under the Racecourse - always worth a visit to see as they stay in place for a few years being gradually replaced year on year.  Voting will close next Friday 4th April.

Attendance

Further to a recent visit from our Education Welfare Officer, Jo Barnes, please find a message from the Education Welfare Service below:

'With recent changes in legislation around the issuing of fines (Fixed Penalty Notices) for unauthorised absence during term time, Headteachers are not able to authorise term time holidays and fixed penalty notices will be issued from the local authority where thresholds are met (10 or more sessions of holiday taken – a morning is one session, an afternoon is one session). These are issued one per parent, per child.

It may now be even more tempting to use other excuses for absence, to avoid receiving a fine for taking holidays.  Please note that your children do usually tell friends and school staff when they’ve been on holiday, however the absence has been reported to school.  It’s important that you are honest with school in order that the trust built between parents and school staff can be maintained moving forward. The Education Welfare Service urges you not to take holidays during term time to avoid your children missing vital education and such issues of integrity cropping up.'
