Dear Parents and Carers,
Yesterday, we welcomed the families of Year 6 to their last Class Assembly. The children planned and delivered the assembly and showed their maturity throughout. Thank you to Miss Harding for supporting the class in their assembly preparations. Well done Year 6!
Y5 Class Assembly
Is on Thursday 5th March at 9am – families are welcome via the back hall door after drop-off.
NSPCC Workshops
The NSPCC deliver workshops annually as part of our safeguarding curriculum. Next Tuesday, they will deliver workshops to Y2, Y5 and Y6. Further information is provided in the previous letter that was sent to parents Y1 – Y6.
World Book Day
We are inviting the children to dress up as their favourite character or as a word on Friday 6th March to celebrate books. We will have a parade in school to show other classes the costumes.
Book Fair
Thank you to the volunteer parents who helped. We are aware of the difficulties some of you have had in paying for the books and we will be feeding that back to Scholastic. Despite these difficulties, I hope your child enjoyed browsing! Thank you to Miss Harding for organising.
Head Girl and Deputy Head Girl – Parking Report!
On Friday 13th Feb, Ariana and Eleni patrolled the parking with PCSO Doward. They were checking no-one was parked on double yellow lines or in a disabled parking spot when they don’t have a badge. They reported back that “overall, our notes are for parents not to park on double yellow lines – especially at the end of Station Road - and not to leave big spaces between cars so that more cars can fit in legally.”
Parent Tip
This week’s guide is about Minecraft. This is still a really popular game and I know many of our children enjoy playing it. Please take a look at the guide to make sure you’re aware of the content.
Government’s White Paper on Education
You may have heard on the news this week that the Government have released their plans for the future of education and their proposals for Special Educational Needs reform. This parent leaflet will explain the key points for you.
If you are a parent of a child with SEN, we will contact you with any changes for your child that you need to be aware of.
Y5 Show
Some of the children in Y5 asked me if they could out on a show to raise money for Transforming Trinity and childhood cancer charities. What great enterprise! So, they will be performing their Greatest Showman show during the school day on Tuesday 3rd March. If you would like to donate the suggested £1, please send the money in with your child on Tuesday and the pupils will collect on entrance to the show.
Best of luck Year 5!
Wishing you a lovely weekend,
Mrs Griffith
