Newsletter 21 - 13th February 2026

Dear Parents and Carers,

We have come to the end of another half term and are now at the midway point of the academic year. Time flies, doesn’t it?

Knowledge Organisers

In Years 1 to 6, you may well have seen these in your child’s books or heard your child mention them. They are prompts of the knowledge taught in various subjects in each topic. We use them in school to introduce the children to a topic, but also for them to refer back to and remind themselves of vocabulary or overall knowledge.

These Knowledge Organisers have been on our website for a few years, but we thought it would be useful to draw your attention to them in order for you to further support your child at home.

World Book Day

After half term, we have the Book Fair in school from 25th – 27th February. Can you help from 3pm to 4pm on Thursday or Friday?  Please email year6@holytrinityprimary.org if so.

We will be celebrating World Book Day in school on Friday 6th March and look forward to the children’s outfits reflecting a book character or a word if they’d like to dress up. If possible, they need to bring the book with them too so they can share it with their class.

Parent Workshop

If you’d like to join our Education Psychologist, Dr Jo Slifi, for a workshop on supporting your child’s emotional development please sign up here.

It’s 8.45 – 10am on Monday 9th March.

Y6 Class Assembly

The first of our Class Assemblies will be Year 6 9am on Thursday 26th February. Please come to the back of the hall door to enjoy your child’s last Class Assembly – as I said, time flies!

Mrs Hill’s Retirement - Thank Box

After nearly 19 years at Holy Trinity, Mrs Hill our caretaker and cleaner is retiring. So many of you will know how much Mrs Hill has supported the school and especially the PTA events. She will be greatly missed! A few parents have asked if there will be a collection or similar for Mrs Hill. If you would like to leave Mrs Hill a message please do so here. You can also donate to her retirement present if you wish using the same link. I know she will be very grateful and will enjoy spending her present on holiday vouchers!

Thank you for all your support this term. The partnership between schools and parents is a fundamental component of a child’s educational success and overall development. When both work collaboratively, it creates a supportive environment that enhances learning, behaviour, and emotional wellbeing. We value this partnership and look forward to the second half of the school year.

Hope you all have a fun and relaxing half term holiday. See you on 23rd February.

Mrs Griffith

Parking Patrol

Thank you to PCSO Keith Doward and our Head Girl and Deputy Head Girl for reviewing our parking during the morning drop off.  We look forward to seeing you again next term.

KS2 Cross Country at The Marist School

Holy Trinity children did a fantastic job representing our school at the Marist Cross Country running event.  There were over 200 children in attendance from many different local primary schools - 60-80 in each year group from year 3 to year 6.  Despite the chilly conditions, all of our children ran their hearts out.  Notable mentions go to:

Year 3 boys - Harrison came 2nd and Will came 3rd

Year 5 boys - Max came 2nd

Thank you very much to Mrs Pink and Ms Walker who supported and organised the children throughout the event.

Fabulous Footballers!

On Monday morning we took our years 5 & 6 boys football teams to a tournament at Ascot Football Club. Our A Team competed against teams from St. Michael’s, South Ascot Village School, St. Francis and Binfield, making the final. They played incredibly well but lost 1-0 in the final against St. Francis. Our B Team competed against teams from St. Michael’s, South Ascot Village School and St. Francis and won by one point! All the boys were great representatives of Holy Trinity. Thank you to all the parents who were able to come to support our teams and to Mrs Hunter and Miss Harding for attending with the boys.

Bags 2 School

We will have a Bags 2 School collection on Friday 27th February at 9am.  So if you have a spare moment over half term we'd be very grateful for contributions.   Please click here to see what can and can't be included - this is a great earner for the PTA but we will have to pay for disposal of any erroneous items so please do check the link. Thanks!

Guitar Lessons

There are spaces on the 12.30 Guitar Class for Year 2s.  Please contact Rachael Holden on 07734 424444 or rachholdenguitar@gmail.com for more details.
