Newsletter 23 - 10th March 2023

Dear Parents and Carers,

Well done to Year 3 for their wonderful class assembly this week – we all enjoyed you sharing your learning about the Egyptians.

We are inviting Year 1 parents to the hall at 9am, next Wednesday 15th March for their assembly. Please do come to the back hall door on Church Road from drop off for a 9am start.

Year 5 will be taking part in Bikeability next week – if you have signed up for this, please remember to check your bikes and bring your helmets!

Phonics and Early Reading Success

We wanted to share with you how impressed we are with the progress that Reception and Year 1 children are making with their phonics and early reading. We introduced a new teaching programme (Essential Letters and Sounds) in September and we’d like to say a huge ‘thank you’ for the support from parents. Reading with your child daily makes a huge difference – thank you!

Parent Consultation Meetings

These meetings will be taking place on Tuesday 21st March 1 – 5pm and Thursday 23rd March 3.30 – 5pm. These are the only time slots we will be offering. You will be receiving an email shortly prompting you to book a 10 minute time slot. These meetings will take place in the hall and you will also have the chance to look through your child’s books (Y1 to Y6).  Can I please ask that you make sure you stick to your 10 minutes and avoid running over.

Enjoy the weekend,

Mrs Griffith

PTA Easter Trail

Get creative on the build-up to Easter and design your very own ‘Easter Animal’ themed artwork for everyone to enjoy seeing at your home. Think Easter chicks/rabbits/lambs etc. This can be something you display in your front garden or stick into your window. It needs to be clearly visible from the pavement so that your friends can see it easily on their way around the Easter Trail in Sunningdale and Sunninghill. There are prizes for the top three best designs as voted for by those who take part in the trail!

If you don’t live within walking distance of the school, then you can still take part by providing your artwork for us to display from the school. Simply drop it into the school office before the Easter Holidays.

Trail maps will cost £3 and be available 27th- 31st March from the school office and from MyCloud Coffee (7 Silwood Rd, Ascot SL5 0PY) from 27th March throughout the Easter Holidays.

If you would like to display your Easter creation, please provide your address below or write ‘school’ if you’d like us to display on the school site. Please post into the PTA post box in the School Office by Monday 20th March.
