Newsletter 28 - 25th April 2025

Dear Parents and Carers,

Our vision is for our pupils to flourish in an inclusive, inspirational place of learning where we are happy, respectful, kind and safe.

Welcome to the Summer Term!

It has been lovely to see the children back in school this week – they are welcome to wear summer uniform now if they’d prefer.

Mini London Marathon

Some of our pupils and parents are running the Mini London Marathon tomorrow – we wish you all luck! Thank you for fund-raising for our school.

Summer Term Trips and Activities

You are now able to contribute to the summer term trip and activity funds on ParentPay. Please do so to allow our planned trips and activities to go ahead – the school budget will not be able to cover the cost of extra-curricular items and we rely on your contributions to be able to continue to organise these experiences for the children.

Thank you to those parents who have also donated to the Governor Computing Fund to replace pupils laptops.

Clubs

Clubs will start again next week.

Parent Tips

This week’s guide is all about Nintendo Switch – this is such a popular hand-held gaming device that a lot of our children have. I hope you find the guide useful.

Enjoy the weekend.

Mrs Griffith

Victory Field Recreation Ground - Consultation

Sunninghill and Ascot Parish Council is responsible for taking care of Victory Field Recreation Ground.  Most of the current equipment is at the end of its utility life and they are looking to improve the playpark and provide an exciting, inclusive and challenging play space for residents and visitors.

The Council are planning a project to fully refurbish the area; the goal is to improve the facilities for the health and wellbeing of all who use this space.

Victory Field Recreation Ground, Sunninghill, SL5 7DG, was purchased in 1919 for the local community and for the children of Sunninghill to have a playing field. Soldiers who had just fought in the First World War were employed to level off the ground to create a football pitch, with a steep bank to provide a natural grandstand. Since 1919, Victory Field has been well used by Sunninghill residents for recreation, children’s play, tennis, an outdoor gym and as a skate park, amongst other uses.

The Council want to hear your thoughts. Your input is vital to help us ensure our ideas match what you, our residents, want. The closing date is 31 May 2025.
