Newsletter 6 - 10th October 2025

Dear Parents and Carers,

Harvest

It was wonderful to see the children at their Harvest Services this week. Holy Trinity Church would like to thank you for your generous donations to Sunningdale Foodbank; they will help stock up the provisions over the next couple of months. Thanks to Rev Terry for welcoming us into church. We did miss Rev Jon and we wish him a speedy recovery.

Reading Room

As you know, our newly refurbished Reading Room (library) is now up and running. A huge thankyou to Mrs Sudell for taking time to re-stock the shelves and make sure our book offer is  current and fresh.  If any more parents would like to volunteer to help with the running of the library, please do contact the office.

You are invited to come and see our new Reading Room on Friday 24th October 8.45 – 9.45am. If you’d like to pop in, please use the hall entrance on Church Road once you’ve dropped your child in to school.

Pre-loved Halloween Fancy Dress

PTA are collecting pre-loved costumes for a sale on Friday 17th October after school. It’s a great way to recycle and save money!

Mufti Day 24th October

Our last day of this half term will be a MUFTI day. This means the children can wear an outfit of their choice for a £2 donation. This can be on ParentPay or cash on the gate. If your child would like to wear their Halloween costume they can. No face make up or face masks please. Sensible shoes only.

PTA Events this term

Please see the information about PTA events this term. If you have any questions please do contact your class rep or the Co-Chairs via Classlist.

Parent Governor Positions - Message from Mrs Jo Steel - Chair of Governors

I would like to thank the four parents who applied for the role of Parent governor and for all those parents who took time to vote.

I am pleased to announce that Mr Jonathan Sharland and Ms Liz Walker were duly elected and will begin their terms of office from 10th October 2025.

The governing board at Holy Trinity plays a vital role in making sure every child receives the best possible education and that the school’s vision is upheld. Parent Governors serve a four-year term of office and bring a very important and valued perspective to the work of the governing board.  I look forward to working with them over the coming months and years. To find out more about our governors and the role the board plays in the running of our school, please visit https://www.holytrinityschsunningdale.co.uk/governors/

Christmas Fair Advertising Boards

Holy Trinity Christmas Fair is being held on Saturday 22nd November. The PTA are in discussions with Breckenridge Lettings who have very kindly agreed to donate a generous raffle prize in return for placing advertising boards around Sunningdale to advertise both the fair and their letting agency.

The boards should go up during half term, or shortly after, and will be collected the week after the fair.

If you are willing to have an advertising board outside of your house then please email htpta@outlook.com with your full address and postcode.  Many thanks.

Sunningdale Village Hall - Chairperson Needed

Sunningdale Village Hall has played a large part of Sunningdale's community for over 100 years and is home to our much needed and beloved preschool and after school club, as well as many other clubs, parties and activities many of us attend and host. The Village Hall is a charity, and its continued existence very much depends on a dedicated group of volunteers – the Trustees – who are willing to give their time, their enthusiasm, and their life skills to ensure the Village Hall continues to thrive well into the future. We are currently looking for a new chair and would love to hear from anyone who wants to ensure the heart of our community continues to run as smoothly as it has. We have a great operational team in place, so this is a purely strategic, governance and oversight position. Please reach out to Jo Hermon (year 3 mum) if you are interested to have a chat. You can email the Trustee Board at:  admin@svhcommunity.co.uk
