22nd June 2020
Well, we survived the rain at the end of the week and the children did so well and were in great form. This week the forecast is ‘hot’, so sunhats and sunscreen before school please!
This week we are continuing with our work on Ladybirds, because we are exploring the super set of books, ‘What the Ladybird Heard’ by Julia Donaldson. I have downloaded some work sheets based on this story.
One of the year 5 pupils wrote a story for Reception class, which is on the download list below. Do read the story. You could write a letter to Lucas saying ‘Thank you’ for his story.
Wednesday is ‘National Writing Day’. They have a #247 challenge to write a story in 24 words! Wow! We can all do 24 words! The story is to begin ‘One day…’. For more details go on the website https://firststory.org.uk/writeday/
With the warmer weather we will be exploring capacity in school. We aren’t allowed to use play dough in school at the moment, so do try and make some for your child to play with at home- or use plasticine or clay to make some different size animals/mini beasts.
Do work through the Oak National Academy work – there are some excellent lessons on there and Maths is looking at doubling and halving which we have been doing in school.
