Friday 15th May
And just like that - it's the weekend tomorrow!
Is it me or do the weeks seem to be going quicker and quicker?
Thank you for the lovely photos I have received this week - I have updated our photo gallery and our cooking gallery with your super creations.
Exciting news - Jack has got a new rabbit called TRex - he looks so adorable!
Today I have baked some cupcakes with Millie, they are chocolate cake with white chocolate and milk chocolate buttercream :
I have some ideas for you to have a go at if you fancy them. Mrs O'Brien (Ernie's mummy) sent me this first one - if you have a school shirt that is a bit small for you why not upcycle it to be a doctors coat to wear for clapping the NHS on Thursday evenings?
The other one for you to try is this:
As always, if you do try them PLEASE send me photos
Finally, Xander has designed and made his own game on Purple Mash (amazing!!) - this is the link:
I have had a go... I need some more practise!
Have a lovely lovely weekend, enjoy the sunshine. I will post a video later today announcing the names of our two new class friends, thank you for all the suggestions!
Thursday 14th May
I hope you are all keeping well, still smiling and having lots of fun. There is lots of talk at the moment about school on the news at the moment and it can all get a bit confusing, so I just wanted you to know that no matter when you come back to school I will be here for you in the meantime
I am still missing you all so much and am incredibly proud of how you have all been working hard and have been SO creative with your learning! I know Mrs Free feels the same too - she often tells me how she is missing you.
I have been told about this: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCvQkpHJOWGByqvr9P01p1dg
He is a teacher that is doing Maths and English everyday at 10am and 11am.
I have been doing some of the Oak Academy with Millie and I am quite impressed with it - what do you think?
Wednesday 13th May
Good morning class 2,
Did everyone have a nice day yesterday? We had a busy day in our house, working, schooling, food shopping and then of course we went for our daily walk! I have seen a nice idea that looks easy to do if you can find some sunshine in your garden/on your doorstep or absolutely anywhere else! If you do have a go make sure to send me photos, I will upload my attempt too You will need to collect some interesting shaped leaves/flowers/petals etc and hang them onto some string between two sticks. You could stick the sticks into the ground if you haven't got a table like the one below.
I hope you enjoy it and I look forward to seeing what you produce!
Tuesday 12th May
Eventually after one whole night plus one whole day the Fing chapters for last night finally uploaded!
I hope you enjoyed the start to your week yesterday. I wanted to make some recommendations:
Oak Learning Academy - Worry PSHE lesson - Make your own worry jar and happy box. You will need an empty clean jar/shoebox/egg box for this along with things to decorate
I did record a video for you to watch this morning when you logged on but it is STILL uploading... so it should be on there tomorrow. Send me an email and let me know what you're focussing on this week, will it be BBC bitesize, Oak Academy, Three Little Pigs or something else?
Have a good day
Monday 11th May
Hi Class 2
Firstly I need to start by apologising for not getting the Fing chapters up over the weekend - my computer has just had enough! I think it needed a bank holiday rest!! These will resume today.
I hope you all had a fun time on VE day, I know some of you were having tea parties which looked very yummy!! Did you take part in the silence at 11am to remember all the soldiers from the war?
I have set out the BBC Bitesize timetable for you below - today there is a history lesson on Martin Luther King, you are welcome to do that one or on the timetable for Year 1 at the same time is a lesson about Henry VIII - you choose!
You also have the link for Oak National Academy below - click on and have a look at the second assembly about 'Wellbeing'.
Our book to focus on this week with our Traditional Tales focus is The 3 Little Pigs. It should be a story most of you know well and we can do some fun activities with this. Have a look at my week timetable if this is something you would like to follow. Like every other week - just do what you can and it doesn't matter if you only do a few of the things I put here.
Finally (!!) here is a link to a great competition you may like to enter - you need to design a book token and get the chance to win a £10 book token for you and all of your classmates.
Have a great week
