    Dear Parents and Carers,

    Harvest

As you know, we are not able to invite parents to join us in our Harvest Service this year due to space constraints. Reverand Jon is hopeful that we will be able to use the newly renovated church for our Christmas Service, so we look forward to that!

Please send your donations of harvest goods in with your child on Wednesday 7th October. Thank you in advance for supporting our local foodbanks and families in need.

    PTA Events

Please do take a look at the planned events for this year.  The PTA page of the website has more information regarding PTA.

The PTA would like to sell pre-loved Halloween or general dressing up costumes. Do you have any to donate? If so please bring them into the school office and you will be able to browse the sale of these items after school on  Friday 16th October.

    Parent Governor Vacancy

If you haven’t yet voted for your choice of candidate, please click here to make your choice. The vote will close at midday on Tuesday 13th October.

    Wishing you a lovely weekend,

    Mrs Griffith

    House of the Week

This week's house of the week with the most house points is Earth .  Well done Earth!

Mixed Football Tournament at Charters School

A mixture of boys and girls Y5/6 footballers played in a mixed tournament at Charters School this week against other primary schools in the area.  Our first team won the competition, winning all their matches and with Max as our top goalscorer. The tournament was a first for some of our players who enjoyed themselves, played well and behaved beautifully.  Many thanks to Mrs Waters for helping Miss Harding to manage the teams.  Well done all!

Head Lice - Bust Some Bugs This Weekend!

Several families across the school have reported head lice.  They are not always obvious and you won't necessarliy know your children have them unless you do a thorough comb through with lots of conditioner and a nit comb.  Swish the comb around in a sink of water and you might be surprised what you find (speaking from experience here!)  If all families could do a spot of bug busting over the same weekend this would go some way to getting on top of them.  See advice from the NHS here.

Children's Illnesses - See NHS Advice here

Please do not bring a child to school with a high temperature, even if this is controlled by paracetamol or ibuprofen.

If your child has a stomach upset, you must wait for 48 hours after the last incidence of sickness or diarrhoea before bringing them back to school, whatever you think the cause may be.  Stomach upsets spread very quickly in schools and can easily become out of control and difficult to manage.

If in doubt, the NHS has a very useful guide about when you should or shouldn't send your child to school. It's called 'Is My Child Too Ill For School?' and can be found here.

    Considerate Parking

We continue to receive complaints from our neighbours about illegal and inconsiderate parking.  Do not park on double yellow lines, within 10 metres (32 feet) of a junction, on the zig zags, in the disabled bay without a Blue Badge and definitely not across all or any part of residential driveways or in any way impeding our neighbours' ability to drive in and out of their properties.  Thank you for your help with this matter.
