I am getting in touch as Children’s Commissioner personally to ask for your help in making sure the children at Holy Trinity CofE Primary School, Sunningdale have the opportunity to take part in my national survey, The Big Future.
So far, I have heard from 13 children at your school. With hundreds of thousands of children and young people already taking part across England, I would really like to make sure as many of your pupils as possible have the opportunity to add their voices.
The Big Future is asking children and young people about their lives, their experiences and their hopes for the future. I will be using what they tell me to build a national picture of what matters to children today and to ensure their views are heard by Government.
The survey takes just a few minutes to complete and can be accessed here: https://www.childrenscommissioner.gov.uk/thebigfuture
Dame Rachel de Souza
Children’s Commissioner for England
I’m asking for your help with this as it isn’t something we can easily facilitate in the school day. Please would you consider completing the survey with your child at home so that their voice can be heard? Thank you.
Sadly, we are not able to have the usual Harvest Services in church that we can invite parents to due to the on-going renovations at church. Reverend Jon will be celebrating a Harvest Service with the children and staff in school on Wednesday 7th October. We are still able to collect donations and ensure they are distributed to those in need via the Holy Trinity Foodbank. So, we are asking that you send your donation in with your child on 7th October. Storage space is limited due to the church being closed and so this year we are collecting:
Thank you for your generosity!
A number of schools in Berkshire received a hoax threat this week. We did not receive a threat, but Thames Valley police did contact us to inform us that an intelligence team are investigating the incident, although they do believe it to be a hoax.
Enjoy the weekend,
Mrs Griffith

Well done to Greg, Igor, Max and Peyton who represented Holy Trinity so well at the Papplewick Maths Competition this week! There were 5 rounds of challenges including a logic round, a shuttle round, a group round, cross-number and a relay and they came 5th overall! Thank you to Mrs Whiter for helping with the competition too.

Please make sure children in Years 3 - 6 are wearing the correct KS2 PE Kit which is the green and black shirt with matching green and black shorts or skort, available from Direct Clothing. Plain black shorts should not be worn. In cold weather, black tracksuit trousers, leggings or skins can be worn.
We have plenty of good condition preloved kit available via the school office for £2 an item.
On Thursday 1st October, all schools will complete a Census. We have three of these a year - once per term. Please note that although children in Reception Class and Years 1 and 2 receive 'free' school meals, these have to be paid for by the school. The funding we receive to cover this cost is determined by the number of children ordering a hot meal on Census Day only! It would help is greatly if your child could order a school meal on this day.
