Thursday update: sorry for the late addition but I have received a special edition newspaper from First News (a news service designed for children) all about Queen Elizabeth II and her life. I thought the children might be interested in reading it over half term so am attaching it here.
Hi all,
I cannot quite believe we are at half term already. The last five weeks have flown by and the children have been working so hard learning about rivers, time, Monet, measuring length, coding and the Hindu gods - a real mix! Next term is always busy so I would like the children to have a good break over half term ready for their final few weeks in Year 3.
With this in mind, I am not setting any specific Maths or English homework over the holiday. However, I would like the children to try and read at least one book from the Year 3 book list (see below). If they have already read the books, perhaps they could choose another book by one of the listed authors. They can read the majority independently if they wish. However, please hear them read a little every day and ask them questions about what they have read.
I hope you all have a relaxing break and that the sun shines for us all.
